This could be the BIGGEST FREEBIE EVER!!!!

Free - Based on need
Hey gang, I really hope this is for real. Get 100 gallons of heating oil for FREE! I found this at a legit site here:
http://consumerist.com/344124/get-100-gallons-of-heating-oil-for-free

Citizens Energy is administering the program and issues eligible applicants a voucher redeemable for 100 gallons of Citgo heating oil. Citgo is run by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
The 2 requirements are:
1. You have to have a need (Probably means you have to be poor).
2. You have to live in one of the following states:
Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington DC (WHAT: Politicians can get this and I can't in Ohio! ARG!!!!) Delaware, Maryland, Alaska, Wisconsin, Michigan and Indiana. Notice Ohio and Kentucky are not on the list. What did they do? Good luck you eligible people. Let me know if you get it or if you see any good freebies. I'll have a hard time topping this one!

UPDATE: There was nothing at snopes.com so I submitted a research request. I don't know how long it will take. If they notify me, I will post it here on the blog. Also, I found the application at:
http://www.citizensenergy.com/english/pages/13/individual-households
Beginning December 3, 2007, families that need heating assistance can call the Citizens Energy Oil Heat Program’s toll free hotline, 1-877-JOE-4-OIL (1-877-563-4645) or apply online to complete an application. Citizens will notify households/families via mail on their application status. Qualified families will receive a one-time delivery of up to 100 gallons of heating oil. To receive a delivery during the 2007-2008 winter season, Citizens Energy must receive all applications and requests for processing by February 29, 2008.

I didn't get to verify any of this so a word of caution to all: BE CAREFUL GIVING OUT PRIVATE INFO ABOUT YOURSELF.
Looks like the worst the application form asks is for your address and phone number. Just make sure they don't go too far if they call you.
Good luck, Jim
